  • What is screen printing and how does it work?

Screen printing is a process used to print designs onto various materials (such as shirts, posters, and signs) using a mesh screen, ink, and a stencil. The ink is pushed through the screen using a squeegee, transferring the design onto the material below.

  • What types of products can be printed using screen printing?

Screen printing is commonly used for apparel (such as t-shirts, hoodies, and hats), posters, banners, business cards, signs, and custom designs on promotional items (for example, bags, mugs, and coasters).

  • How long does it take to print custom designs?

The time it takes for custom printing can vary depending on the complexity of the design, the number of colors, and the quantity of items being printed. Simple designs can take just a few days, while larger or multi-color orders may take more time.

  • What are the benefits of screen printing over other printing methods?

Screen printing gives you durability, vibrant colors, and high-quality prints. It is ideal for large runs, as the setup cost can be spread out over more units, making it more cost-effective for bulk orders. Screen printing also works well on a wide range of materials.

  • What is the minimum order quantity for screen printing?

Minimum order quantities vary, but we usually accept a minimum of 12-24 items for custom apparel printing. However, smaller orders may be accepted at a higher per-unit price. Contact us for details.

  • Can I print multi-colored designs using screen printing?

Yes, screen printing can handle multi-colored designs. However, each color requires a separate screen and pass through the press, which can increase the overall time and cost of the job.

  • What file format do I need to submit for my design?

High-resolution vector files are preferred for screen printing. At Lake Custom Printing, we accept .PNG, .EPS, .PDF, or.JPEG files.

  • How much does screen printing cost?

The cost depends on multiple factors, including the number of items, the complexity of the design (i.e. the number of colors), the type of material, and the size of the print run. Bulk orders tend to lower your per-item cost.

  • Can I get a sample before committing to a large order?

Yes, you can. We offer a sample or "proof" print before proceeding with a full order. This allows you to check the quality of the design and ensure everything looks as you wish.

  • What is the turnaround time for screen printing orders?

We can complete your order in 2-10 days from the design approval, depending on the complexity and size of the order. Rush orders may be available for an additional fee.
